We have worked with both Olivaverde in the UK and Festivaldelgusto in the Italian region of Le Marche on many projects and festivals over several years, and in the process making some fantastic new contacts with small artisan olive oil producers in Italy . Where possible concentrate on building links with olive oil producers who are also members of Slow Food in Italy, an organisation that we have very close contacts with in both the UK, Italy and Malta. Because of our passion for spreading knowledge about good olive oil, their producers and how they are made we now can offer one or two day intensive oil appreciation courses at our dedicated Olive oil schools in London, Norwich, Le Marche, Sicily and Malta.
In the UK we run courses in London, in the city of Norwich and also Cambridge in the east of England. In Italy we have our courses at the beautiful Castello Di Monterado in Le Marche also at two beautiful venues on the Island of Sicily and also on Malta. As we are members of Slow Food where possible we will concentrate on fine extra virgin olive oils only produced by olive oil farmers that are members of Slow Food, we believe that their passion for their oils as well as following the ethos of Slow Food allows them to produce some of the best extra virgin olive oils that are available to the public.
Our specialist courses are held over one or two days and with a maximum of ten students, this we believe allows for close interaction between the students, our chosen olive oil producers and the teachers. Classes consist of learning about the history of the olive, focusing on the main olive oil varieties used to produce olive oil, visits to the olive groves with tutored tours by the olive producers and tastings of several different oil oils, in both normal and blind tastings.
